What year Did you Stop Attending Meetings - How Long were you a JW ?

i'm trying to compare some statistics and figures on this to share later in the thread to see if more long-time witnesses are exiting- or are newer witnesses exiting after a shorter period of time.

and - are more people exiting in the last 10 to 15 years than before.

so your answers would be helpful in looking into this .

First Time that I Didn't Go to the Memorial - Now Depressed

so this was the very first time in my whole life that i didn't go to the memorial.

my wife went, and she was sullen before and after... i know she wanted me to go.

i told her afterwards that if she wants me to go next year i would, but she didn't say anything.

i was sad the day before knowing this was going to be my 1st no show but after i felt relief... but... i don't have a spouce IN so i can imagine only imagine how hard that would be.... i don't know what will fix it but i do think time will help and talk to your wife!!!

For born ins- what tipped you off it was wrong

at a young age i remember watching tv and commenting why is the red cross always helping people and we don't.

the second big one is if the witnesses only started up in 1890 - 1900 did jehovah not have anyone else doing the preaching work?.

as a child i don't think we think about theological problems so what tipped you off?

1 - When I was a kid the meedings were so scarry!!! they always talked about the great tridulation and armegedon!!! When I started to know Jehovah it just didn't add up

2- the lack of love

3- all the prophecy books they say so many thing forshadow the GB and the elders and never saw the proof

4 - feeling better about myself when i decided to take a few weeks off from meedings

5 - the lack of love!!! thinking they had love and then realizing they don't!!!

these are all normal emotions and will pass as you recover.. keeping a journal and sorting one's overwhelming feelings is most healing and helps work through feelings of betrayal and abuse.

a lot to think about!!! i went thru a lot of those feeling and at this point i feel almost heald!!! but than again I had a bit of a breakdown this week cuz of the memorial... this was my first no show and some reason i started to feel guilt? thanks for the post

Not sure if i am a newbie? All I know is I love to hear all your stories and share when I think i have something to say.... as far a the JW falling down? I hope so!!! I did get one family out and that makes me oh so happpy!!!

Memorial 2010 Your Experiences

just got back from memorial.

only went so that i could say to my parents that i had gone and to remind myself why i left.. oh my word!!!

it was sooooo painful.. got there a bit late - it was a couple of minutes into the talk.

3 1/2 hours till it starts at this side of earth and i will be Home for the first time!!! I will drink a glass of wine and look at the full moon and for the first time on the memorial feel loved by Jesus!!
